Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk.
The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem  identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides  an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes  appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.

This role is an individual contributor position and reports directly to the Head of Operational Risk Reporting.  The ideal candidate should have deep subject matter experience in Operational Risk from an industry and/or internally at Wells Fargo.  The candidate will work on a team responsible for developing reporting to be used for senior level audiences including the Board of Directors, Risk Committees and Operational Risk Group Leadership. The ideal candidate will work closely with the ORG Data Analytics and Insights team to summarize key risks/themes and emerging risks across Operational Risk across all Wells Fargo groups.

This position requires superior communication skills, excellent presentation/story boarding and high attention to detail for all reporting to senior level audiences. The ideal candidate will have the ability to grasp big-picture concepts and distill down to the appropriate amount of detail based on the audience.  The candidate must be willing to operate in an environment of change and be flexible as the operational risk reporting team continues to evolve. 

The candidate must be able to collaborate across a broad audience of individuals at both the senior and junior level including the Chief Operational Risk Officer, Operational Risk Group Leadership, Control Executives and Audit.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • Process design or improvement experience
  • Ability to prepare and present senior level communications
  • Ability to present complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Operational Risk systems
  • Familiarity with a variety of Operational Risk related applications including SHRP modules, Issues Management and the Controls Catalog
  • Experience with risk reporting
  • Experience developing partnerships and collaborating with other businesses and functional areas

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
