As part of the First Line of Defense, this role will provide leadership support to ensure that Enterprise Information Technology is accountable for risks associated with technology activities, current and emerging risk identification, measurement, assessment, control, mitigation, monitoring and reporting.  This role will work regularly with EIT teams and Second Line functions to ensure a strong control environment exists for compliance with technology laws, regulations, and rules.

Wells Fargo Technology - Policy Development and Regulatory Governance process requires an understanding of technology policy landscape as well as understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to Technology. The candidate will act as a policy development lead and manage policy development process for a set of Technology Policies, ensuring the content of the policies aligns with regulations, internal controls, and adherence measurements. The candidate will work directly with the policy content owners, Corporate Policy Office, Technology Risk Management Oversight, Divisional Operational Risk Management, and risk domain consultants to guide the creation of structured and inclusive policy content with an emphasis on adherence measurement and monitoring.

Policy Development and Regulatory Governance - Policy Development Lead Responsibilities:

  • Understand of Wells Fargo Technology organization functions
  • Partner with Policy Content teams and guide Policy Development process for a set of Technology Policies
  • Ensure Policy content requirements are met
  • Partner with Corporate Policy Office, Technology Risk Management Oversight, compliance, and legal teams as needed for requirement clarification
  • As a part of Technology Policy Governance Framework process, collaborate with Policy Review and Policy Adherence teams to ensure end-to-end policy oversight
  • Chair working group sessions with policy content teams and key stakeholders to develop robust policy content
  • Understand Policy adherence monitoring process and ensure the adherence monitoring findings are incorporated into policy development process
  • Drive awareness of Policy changes and Policy adherence requirements with broader technology stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 10+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

Other Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Technology Policy development and /or Technology Policy Review process
  • Experience managing Regulatory requirements for Technology organization
  • Experience in compliance, operational risk, IT systems security, business process mgmt. or financial services, (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk) 
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively execute in a large, diverse, matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Technology and Security risk framework - COBIT, FFIEC, NIST, ITIL, COSO, BASEL, and OCC Heightened Standards
  • Strong ability and experience working with and collaborating with leaders and team members at all levels and across functional lines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of strategic elements of financial, operational, technical and regulatory environments across a complex global services environment
  • Professional certifications such as CPA, CSCP, CRCM, CGEIT, CRISC, CITP, CISA, CISSP desired but not required

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
