Human Resources develops and implements people strategies to support Wells Fargo’s business objectives. This group manages compensation and benefits, human resource service centers, systems and payroll, finance, team member relations and assistance, talent management, learning and development, and recruiting. Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring risk-based programs to identify, assess and mitigate operational risk within Human Resources that arises from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems or external events, while maintaining a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency. Works with complex business units and provides operational risk and compliance expertise and consulting for projects and initiatives with high risk.  Designs and develops testing strategies, methodologies and analyses; evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls; analyzes business and/or system changes to determine impact, identifies and assesses operational risk issues and assigns risk ratings consistent with established policy standards. Consults with business to develop corrective action plans and effectively manages change. Identifies training opportunities. Reports findings and develops business cases to influence senior management on the need for controls to mitigate risk. Manages and/or coordinates production of periodic operational risk and compliance performance reports for senior management, including trend analysis and recommended strategies. Experience with operational risk and compliance reporting, systems and tools including but not limited to SHRP, RCSA and other corporate wide practices mandated by the company. May provide guidance to less experienced consultants or directly manage 1-2 specialists/consultants.



Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both

Other Desired Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of Audit, Testing and Validation, or other equivalent Risk Management Experience
  • Experience with process review, control identification, and documenting control descriptions
  • Experience using multiple operational risk platform tools, primarily SHRP Compliance Management System modules  Business Profile Management, Governance Management, and Review Activities
  • Familiarity with Regulatory Change Management
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance and operational risk requirements surrounding human resources
  • Experience analyzing regulations, assessing impact and making recommendations on policy, process and controls to mitigate operational risk
  • Experience in providing oversight (monitoring, reporting, remediation) for a business program or process.
