Job Description

Enterprise Information Security (EIS) has the Information Security (IS) Education and Awareness team responsible for developing and supporting enterprise IS Education and Awareness initiatives. The Education and Awareness team executes the requirements in the Workforce Accountability Policy.

The Operational Risk Consultant will assist with creating control documentation, developing remediation plans, and reporting controls. This includes:

  • Detailed understanding of the controls and supporting metrics aligned to the Workforce Accountability domain.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis and remediation efforts for instances of non-adherence.
  • Perform self-assurance activities and quality assurance to ensure key controls are working as designed and as intended.
  • Additionally, the Operational Risk Consultant will provide statistical trending analysis on the metrics that support the Workforce Accountability domain.
  • For instances of non-adherence:
  • Facilitate root cause analysis by engaging Data Collection Process Owners, Asset Owners, EIT Partners, Group ISL partners, and Publicly Accessible Application Dashboard Application owners.
  • Track Remediation Plans and provide a monthly update.
  • Provide draft of Monthly Narrative (risk report).
  • Facilitate continuous process improvement based on analysis to drive overall process maturity.
  • Assist in on-boarding new controls to EIS Policy Adherence Monitoring & Reporting.
  • Assist in the resolution of technical issues with the Publicly Accessible Application Dashboard.
  • Ensure the evidence of the control is collected, stored, and readily available.
  • Develop and perform quality assurance to ensure controls are working as designed and as intended.


Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6+ years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3+ years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
  • 5+ years of information security experience
  • 1+ years of relationship management experience with business and technology partners
  • 2+ years of quality assurance experience

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • 2+ years of process improvement experience
  • Highly refined and professional verbal and written communications
  • Experience using data analysis to identify trends
  • Ability to identify and evaluate trends, isolate root cause, and provide swift/thorough resolution
  • Knowledge and understanding of analytical methods used in: root cause analysis
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC)
  • BS/BA in computer science, applied statistics, quantitative economics, operations research or a related field
  • Knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma methodology



Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
