at The Lingenfelter Center
Do you want to get into healthcare but have no prior experience? Come, join our compassionate, caring team. Healthcare is such a rewarding for those with a passion to care for others! No experience needed.
Our program is offered to applicants interested in pursuing a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and working in our Long Term Care facility. Each program runs 8 weeks with approximately 180 hours of classroom and clinical instruction. Weekly evaluations are completed and reviewed with each trainee to review their progress in meeting the program objectives, goals and learning the required resident care skills. A minimum score of 75% on daily quizzes and the final written exam as well as a minimum score of 80% on the final skills exam is required to maintain enrollment in the class.
CNA training includes the education and skills to work as a CNA assisting residents with everyday tasks, such as bathing, getting dressed, eating meals, and going to the restroom. CNA work is physically and often emotionally demanding. You must be able to maintain a calm and warm working environment with team members.
Upon successful completion of the program, an Arizona State examiner will test each trainee on clinical skills and a written test is required. While awaiting the state test results, the trainee is able to work with a mentor on their assigned unit. This mentorship program pairs you up with an experienced CNA to make a smooth transition from "trainee" to CNA and to introduce you to the fun and collaborative nursing team you’ll be a part of.
Class hours and opportunity for working hours will vary. A commitment to scheduled class hours and dedication to completion of assigned homework to ensure your success in the class is required. Upon certification, you will move into the CNA position. All CNA's within the facilities are required to the work one of the following: day/evening shift rotation, day/night shift rotation, straight evenings or straight nights. Every other weekend and holiday rotation is also required.
Begin your career today and begin learning on the job, while we provide you with an opportunity to obtain your Certified Nursing Assistant position.
