Human Resources DEFINITION: Under general supervision, performs technical human resources duties of moderate complexity and variety in support of the District's human resources functions.

Responsible for the accurate entry, maintenance, and update of employee records in the automated database and manual files for all employee personnel actions to include special employee situations and vendor information; processes all Personnel Action Requests and applicant information as needed for accurate payment and board approval;; prepares and is responsible for the accurate processing of employee paperwork in accordance with state and federal statutes and District policy, such as I-9, E-Verify, Arizona New Hires, and Arizona State Retirement; assists employees with personnel policies; monitors certification and fingerprint status of certifiedemployees and provides support for obtaining certifications as needed.
Maintains confidentiality with regards to all employee files and issues; processes new hires; coordinates the fingerprinting process, sends approval letters to new hires, and coordinates new employee orientation; provides employee information to hiring supervisors or employees as requested; generates and distributes personnel reports as needed; performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of District policies and procedures.
Knowledge of daily human resources operations.
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database software programs.
Knowledge of federal and state law regarding employment practices.
Knowledge of Arizona Department of Education certification requirements.
Knowledge of Arizona Statute in regards to Educational employee fingerprinting requirements.
Skill in the use of a personal computer.
Skill in organizing schedules and meetings and preparing letters and reports.
Skill in communicating with the public effectively.
Skill in following oral and written instructions.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent sitting, standing, bending, repetitive motion, vision to monitor, and may require some lifting.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years of related experience in a human resources office, or an equivalent combination of training and education.
Depending on the needs of the District, some incumbents in this class must be able to demonstrate fluency in both Spanish and English as a condition of employment.
Salary Grade: 15 Hourly Pay: $15.50 Hours per Day: 8 Days in Contract: 260
