Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing and managing a program to maintain and oversee the Environment of Care (EOC) program and Life Safety compliance within the surgery centers. The safety coordinator will direct and support the surgery center site safety representative, conduct, coordinate and oversee the Surgery Centers Safety Committee.

Staff Development, Education Coordinator develops, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates education and has oversight of orientation of all surgery center staff. Staff development includes writing program content, presenting education materials, assessing staff competence, monitoring effectiveness, and maintaining supporting documents and files. Staff development/education includes credentialing oversight and is responsible for leading, coordinating, monitoring, and maintaining the credentialing and re-credentialing process in the surgery centers. Facilitates required documents for credentialing, including initial appointment, reappointment, expirables process, needed for privileging of providers. Provide oversight for the maintenance of current files on practitioners. On behalf of the professional staff, advocates the enforcement of the Professional Staff Bylaws. Provides the tools and resources required to monitor compliance to national standards, Federal and State rules and regulations, and other accrediting bodies.

Assists the Quality Committee Manger to coordinate and ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements of the MN Department of Health, CMS, and the Joint Commission.

Requirements
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota.

A.D., Diploma, or BSN degree in Nursing.

Minimum of five years’ clinical experience required.

Perioperative nursing experience preferred.

Previous ambulatory surgery and or education coordinator experience preferred.

Current knowledge of Federal and State rules and regulations governing the operations of ambulatory surgery centers.

Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize tasks and activities, maintain deadlines and reporting requirements.

Current BLS, ACLS & PALS certification, with the ability to perform CPR.

Affiliation(s) with professional representative organizations.
