Under the direct supervision of the Information Technology Manager, the Clinical Technology Application Trainer is responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of education & training programs for clinical technology applications, working in collaboration with Operations, Clinical, Surgical, Occupational Health, Administration, and Information Technology teams.

Leads and executes the full range of learning & development activities within the organization, including assessment, planning, design, delivery & evaluation, specific to the departmental setting.

Conducts technology and application orientation and training of new hires, re-hires as well as new applications training for existing employees and providers.

Prepares training materials, develops and provides training aids, schedules and conducts training.

Updates training materials proactively and as necessary to ensure accuracy.

Serves as an instructor for a variety of training programs.

Consults with department leaders on issues that can be solved through further training and/or process improvements or redesign of training materials and processes.

Gathers and develops appropriate training resources (training sheets, policies & procedures, online resources).

Tracks progress and results from training programs and prepares reports of findings.

Participates in departmental meetings to ensure that processes are meeting education needs, and meets regularly with project managers to ensure training components are included in all projects.

Associate of Arts degree or equivalent work experience, preferably in Health, Health Education or Information Technology.

Three years of experience in clinic/business processes within the health care industry, preferably in the physician practice setting. Experience training and/or implementing medical software (EHR or EMR, Practice Management, PACS) in a clinical setting preferred. Experience with Allscripts desired.

* Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of employees, using both verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong presentation skills in settings ranging from one-to-one training to classroom training with many participants.
* Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple concurrent projects.
* Familiarity in cost-effective training program development & instruction. Ability to identify and respond to current training trends and needs within departments.
* Proficient with current clinical and computer technology.
* Established ability to quickly and independently learn new technology, applications and processes.
* Outstanding customer service skills, including the ability to interact with all types and skill levels of individuals.
* Ability to train and communicate steps and processes with an enthusiastic and captivating style, keeping trainees engaged and driving retention of material.
* Must be a process focused individual able to multi-task in challenging, sometimes stressful situations.
* Must be a highly-motivated person who can work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Proficient in MS Office, Visio, WebEx, and Adobe Captivate.
* Familiarity with clinical and business applications & devices (EMR/EHR, Practice Management, PACS, Dictaphones, Dragon, laptops, operating systems, tablets, etc.)
* Problem solving skills and follow up skills.
* Ability to work flexible hours (including travel to sites) in order to meet training needs of organization (including occasional weekends & evenings).
* Proficient at creating detailed and meaningful documentation of processes and proactively keeping documentation up to date on a regular basis.
