We are seeking a Vice President of Human Resources for our respective company.  The VP of HR  will join the team in Phoenix-Administration! Will require periodic visits to sites in Northern Arizona and the Valley.  

As the Vice President of HR, you will Support comprehensive, cost sensitive benefit programs and services for all staff members. Develop sources of qualified applicants to meet departmental staffing needs and assist department in their ability to select candidates for employment in a timely and reliable manner. Communicate in a timely manner human resource services and programs to our customers. Effectively communicate and administer sound policies, rules and practices that treat staff with dignity and equality, while maintaining compliance with all employment and labor laws and company directives. To maintain a classification and pay system providing a consistent ranking of positions based on complexity of duties and levels of responsibilities within existing budgets.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assumes full management responsibility for all functions and activities of the Human Resources Department.

  • Manages the development and implementation of Human Resources department, goals, objectives, policies and priorities for each function.

  • Establishes appropriate service and staffing levels; monitor and analyze the efficiency and effectiveness of policies and procedures; allocate resources accordingly.

  • Reviews and evaluates work methods and procedures; meets with staff to identify and resolve problems.

  • Assumes responsibility of labor and employee relations matters.

  • Selects, trains, motivates and evaluates departments needs and provides staff training.

  • Explains, justifies and defends Human Resources department programs, policies, and budgetary adjustments as appropriate and necessary.

  • Manages department programs, policies, and activities; negotiates and resolves sensitive and controversial issues.

  • Represents the Human Resources department to other departments and outside agencies and organizations.

  • Participates on a variety of boards and committees; prepares and presents staff reports and other necessary correspondence.

  • Attends and participates in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of human resource management.

  • Responds to, and resolves sensitive HR management issues.

  • Provides accurate information to difficult Human Resource questions from federal, state agencies, senior management and department heads.

  • Facilitates training to staff relating to Human Resource functions i.e., supervisor skills and interviewing skills etc.

  • Assists staff with daily department functions as needed.

  • Reviews annual department budget and monitors monthly reports.

  • Collaborates with management to implement the company’s vision and mission.

  • To ensure compliance & adequate services, additional job duties may be required to meet the needs of the program and or department.

    Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or related field with at least 8 years of progressive experience that includes senior level management and supervisory experience within the Human Resources department for a large company with at least 500 employees.

  • PHR or SPHR Certification required.

  • MBA/MA in Business, Human Resource Management or related field preferred
