*This position will work very closely with Sr. Employee Relations Representatives/HR Business Partners, Employee Health, Leave Administrators, Benefits, Recruiters, Leadership, Providers, and employees

EDUCATION: 2 - 3 years of related experience working with leaves, ADA requests, modified work assignments for a large organization; hospital/healthcare preferred. Knowledge of FML, ADA, EEOC interpretations, and applicable state laws. Proficient with Microsoft ® Office suite of products. Experience using HRIS software and leave administration systems preferred.
2 - 3 years experience in healthcare

CREDENTIALS: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP - preferred

  

Summary:
Coordinates and administers activities and duties related to employee Family Medical Leave, Medical Leave of Absence and return-to-work with non-occupational and occupational injuries or illness ensuring compliance with Presbyterian policies and federal and state leave regulations, with a focus on integrated leave management. Provides instruction, guidance and excellent customer service to employees, managers and human resources professionals regarding the various leave of absence policies, interactive dialog process, and return to work efforts. This role will help ensure equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities by working throughout Presbyterian to implement and manage reasonable accommodations. This role will also manage the interactive dialog process with employees, managers, and key HR personnel to determine appropriate reasonable accommodations that enable employees to perform their essential job functions and that promote a safe and timely return to work for employees on medical leave of absence and on a restricted transitional work assignment

 

Responsibilities:
*Assists employees to remain at or return to work with all necessary support and resources when possible through an interactive dialog process with employee, manager.

*Ensures the integration of various leave of absence programs are implemented as needed and provided in a timely manner in accordance with Presbyterian policies.

*Develops and implements a return to work program for non-occupational and occupational injuries or illness, educating the workforce and leadership.

*Documents all correspondence, initiates and tracks the progress of the case in the leave administration system and executes any follow-up.

*Coordinates with Employee Health, managers, and Human Resources, regarding leaves and transitional work for non-occupational and occupational injury or illness.

*Remains current with trends and innovations in the workplace environment as they relate to return to work and accommodating employees with disabilities.

*Continuously improve overall process efficiency and accuracy.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Coordinate and administer FMLA and Medical Leave of Absence.

*Serve as primary point of contact for and manage all leave inquiries, educating employees and managers on the leave process and related policies.

*Ensure federal and state compliance of all leaves.

*Plan the workers return-to-work if they require time away.

*Maintains regular contact with managers, Employee Health, and employees regarding progress of status and accommodations and assists in the resolution of challenges.

*Create and maintain accurate electronic leave and return-to-work files. Monitors leave usage on a regular basis, making sure any adjustments are entered into HRIS, communicated to appropriate departments (benefits, Payroll, etc.) to reduce or eliminate errors that could result in over and underpayments to the employee.

*Communicate with employees, managers, and HR professionals to coordinate the return to work process, including accommodations requests and leave expirations.

*Ensure equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities: scheduling interactive dialog meetings, working with team members to determine appropriate reasonable accommodation, returning employees to work through the accommodation placement process.

*Track accommodations made for employees within Presbyterian.

*Develop and deliver leave related training for employees, managers and HR staff.

*Consult with benefits department, as needed; to coordinate changes to benefits as a result of employees leave.

*Liaisons with Employee Health, Human Resources, and managers to coordinate return to work, modified duty assignments, and/or appropriateness of work restrictions versus usual and customary job duties.

*Other related duties as assigned.
