Preferred Counsel has been retained to recuruit a new HR Generalist for Biodynamic Reserach Corporation.  Position will report to the COO/CFO. We are looking for someone with 5 years of Human Resources experience. This person will oversees the human resources responsibilities and activities of the organization. Position Summary: The Human Resources Generalist oversees the human resources responsibilities and activities of the organization. This position manages recruitment processes, employee relations, regulatory compliance, training and development, and benefits programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Work closely with organizational leadership and managers to create a positive work environment and culture, and help facilitate the resolution of interpersonal issues

  • Foster a trusting environment which promotes transparency, active listening and direct communication

  • Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying benefits and organizing team building activities

  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace

  • Formulate, approve, implement and update BRCs personnel policies in consultation

    with the management team, PEO, legal counsel, and the COO, as needed

  • Prepare and maintain the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual

  • Support the creation and implementation of employee development, career-pathing and

    succession plans

  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics including time to find and hire and

    employee turnover rates

  • Maintain digital employee files and records and establish and maintain department

    records and reports

  • Develop and seek to continually improve onboarding process for each role

  • Recommend and maintain benefit programs to ensure BRC has competitive, cost

    effective benefit programs for the employees

  • Manage cost containment on all benefit programs, including soliciting and evaluating

    proposals from vendors and recommending changes to benefits where considered

    necessary

  • Administration of the employee benefits programs; process enrollment and

    terminations from the plans, review the administrative reports from third party administrators, and ensure all forms are properly completed by terminated employees (COBRA, 401(k) distributions, etc.)

  • Manage all requests for FMLA or other medical leave including short-term and long- term disability benefits

  • In coordination with Senior Management administer BRCs compensation program, annually review and propose updates that may include updating or rewriting job descriptions as necessary, conducting annual salary surveys and developing profit based bonus pools

  • Administer the BRC 401(k) Plan, including employee enrollment and communications, participate on the 401(k) Committee reviewing investment performance, reviewing the annual reports prepared by service providers such as the Plan record-keeper and investment advisor and coordinate the annual review for the Board

  • Ensure the 401(k) Plan is in compliance with all changes in Federal law and recommend Plan amendments to the 401(k) Committee when considered necessary

  • Ensure the employee benefit programs are in compliance with ERISA and other

    government regulations

  • Prepare information for the annual tax returns, annual reports and other reporting

    requirements related to employee benefits

  • Collaborate closely with Senior Management to ensure all human resources initiatives

    are aligned with the strategic direction and goals of the organization

  • Work closely with manager and supervisors on performance related issues and assist in the development of training programs, performance management or termination

    procedures, if considered necessary

  • Ensure that top quality, highly-motivated, and effective staff are recruited, retained, and

    developed within BRC by conducting recruitment efforts for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; write and place advertisements; work with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conduct reference checking; extend job offers

  • Maintain ongoing relationships with employment agencies to ensure the selection of the most qualified candidatesOther duties as assigned

    Education/Experience:

    *  Human Resources related Bachelors degree
    *  Minimum 5 years HR experience, preferably with a small to mid-size company*  Strong understanding of compliance and HR best practices
    *  SHRM Certification preferred
