Job Description

The HRIS Specialist performs routine administrative tasks in support of the HR department and systems. Inputs data and reviews output for accuracy. Generates standard reports. Must be able to alter query variables in order to generate more complex or ad-hoc reports. Provides general clerical and administrative support to the Corporate Human Resources department. Demonstrates attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and can work in a deadline driven environment. Requires strong data entry skills and working knowledge of HRIS and reporting software. Must have strong technical aptitude, follow-up/follow-through skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, have a professional demeanor, and exercise discretion in dealing with confidential and private information.
  • Oversees worker's compensation.
  • Responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual benefits enrollments
  • Manage tuition reimbursement program.
  • Manage daily process of all benefit programs and relationship with vendors
  • Maintains and updates ADP HR/Payroll and Benefits systems by entering and updating employment, status change and benefit data.
  • Perform mathematical calculations to verify salary adjustments and benefit deductions.
  • Administers passwords, benefits enrollment and interim events via Benefits eXpert.
  • Answers benefit questions and resolves system related problems.
  • Responsible for administering COBRA
  • Administration and processing of Short and Long Term Disability claims and Life Insurance claims.
  • Tracks Leaves of Absence in HRIS accordance with FMLA compliance.
  • Synchronizes HR and Benefits systems.
  • Runs and reviews a variety of reports to audit and validate system information and benefit enrollments and deductions.
  • Reviews benefit carrier feed reports and takes appropriate action to update or correct data.
  • Responsible for reconciling, processing and auditing monthly premium benefits bills.
  • Generates and distributes reports and other documents to field and corporate managers
  • Generates standard and ad hoc reports for HR team as requested for operational and financial analysis.
  • Prepares and distributes HR/Benefit related mailings to employees and/or former employees home or office as directed.
  • Assists HR department with recruiting process to include scheduling interviews, reference checks, background investigation and updating recruiting database.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
  • Special projects as assigned by HR
  • Other duties appropriate for the level and skill of this position may be assigned
High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred. Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position.

  • 4 years related relative HR and Benefits experience
  • Employee benefits experience required
  • Experience with HR Benefit system implementations and system design a plus
  • Must have working knowledge of HR Benefit system software and reporting applications and strong technical aptitude
  • Ability to produce/create standard ad hoc reports using excel and/or HR/Benefit applications
  • Microsoft Office Skills including intermediate proficiency with Excel and Word
  • Prior experience with ADP HR/Payroll, Benefits Expert and Reports Smith a plus
  • Requires strong organization, time management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment
  • Must be able to speak, read and write fluently in the English language
  • Requires the ability to reason and understand detailed, yet repetitive, written and oral instructions
  • Bi-lingual a plus
Environmental and Working Conditions:
  • Entire work time is conducted in an office setting

  • Maintain high energy level: comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day to day activities
