Addictions Specialist Supervisor (Partners in Recovery) - 5 years of experience required Summary: Responsible for the supervision and monitoring of the Addictions Specialists that are located at the Baltimore City Department of Social Services. Provide ongoing services to women, children and their entire families that are in need of substance abuse treatment. Act as a professional liaison between the Addictions Specialists and the supervisory staff of the Baltimore City Department of Social Services in order to develop and maintain a working rapport. Responsibilities: Monitor the process of the addictions specialists to ensure that customers applying for benefits within the Department of Social Services are screened appropriately according to COMAR and Department of Human Resources regulations. Program Planning and Evaluation Program Management Staff Supervision Documentation/Compliance Requires: Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to alcohol and drug treatment practices as well as supervisory skills, program management skills, outpatient mental health services, community addictions services and strong written and verbal communication skills. Thorough knowledge of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria and the principles and techniques of addictions counseling. Current certification as a Certified Associate Counselor and as an Approved Alcohol and Drug Supervisor from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists, and have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field from an accredited educational institution At least 5 years of documented experience in substance abuse treatment experience, 2 years of which include providing administrative or clinical supervision. Valid MD drivers license as well as a current driving record that has 3 or fewer points on it at the time of hire.Sheppard Pratt Health System
