Pay Rate: $13-$18 an hour (DOE)

Reports to: Head of HR & Payroll/Benefits Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Human Resources Assistant performs clerical and administrative duties to ensure the accuracy and timely processing of personnel information. Serve as a liaison between management and employees. Address inquiries, communicate decisions, and resolve employment issues. Manage employee files, records, and confidentiality in the Human Resources database.


    -Advertise open positions on job boards such as Indeed, Facebook, and H-Careers
    -Update job descriptions as needed.
    -Pre-screen and forward applications/resumes to hiring managers.
    -Run background and reference checks on candidates.
    -Draft and extend offer letters to new hires.
    -Create new hire orientation packages and conduct onboarding for new hires.
    -Post and send out monthly birthday and anniversary cards.
    -Set up new hires in employee database.
    -Handle employee verification requests and FMLA requests.
    -Maintain employee files and I-9 files.
    -Organize employee engagement events such as annual Christmas party, Health Fair, and Pumpkin Contest.
    -Maintain and follow-up on COVID-19 reported cases.
    -File quarterly EEO-1 report.
    -Additional duties may be assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

    -Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other team members.
    -Ability to work well with a diversified workforce.
    -Intermediate computer skills in Word, Publisher, and Excel.

Education and Experience:

    -Two to three years of experience in Human Resources or a related field.
    -High School degree or GED.
    -Experience with applicant tracking systems, job posting sites, and HRIS systems.
    -Experience using Allpay and Swipeclock is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

While performing duties of this job, employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach within hands and arms; talk and hear. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
