Job Description

Title: Payroll Tax Analyst

Type: Full-Time / Permanent Opportunity

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for resolving tax challenges, managing multi-state reports, reconciling end of year earning/deductions, filing tax amendments, resolving tax issues with federal, state and local agencies and staying abreast of all payroll tax laws and changes
  • Track and timely resolution of payroll tax jurisdictional inquiries/notices
  • Refine and document best practices as it pertains to taxing requirements
  • Provide Payroll Backup as necessary
  • Clears ADP exceptions on periodic and quarterly basis as it relates to tax
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality and integrity in all aspects of their work
  • Prepare headcount tax forms
  • Reconcile payroll taxes to the general ledger and book journal entries
  • Reconcile cash activity to Payroll and ADP Tax Services reports
  • Reconcile Payroll reports to 941s and W-2s
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2+ Years of Payroll Tax experience
  • Understand and perform system corrections on tax setups at the federal, state, and local levels
  • Ability to work under time constraints, handle sensitive data and multi-task so that deadlines can be met
  • 940’s reconciliation and filings
  • 941’s reconciliation and filings
  • Strong experience with MS Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, Formulas)
  • Setting up unemployment accounts, State Income Tax accounts, Local Accounts
  • Experience in working with a large, multi-state organization
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal experience
  • Must be a team player
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • ADP experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
