Grand Canyon Education (GCE) is an educational service company that provides an array of support services in the post-secondary education sector. Formerly part of Grand Canyon University (GCU), GCE still supports and works closely with GCU. GCE designs and develops educational programs for GCU and other traditional campus institutions, as well as online partner institutions at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
Grand Canyon Education is seeking a Benefits Specialist - Wellness to join their Human Resources Team. The Benefits Specialist - Wellness role is responsible for implementing and administering a comprehensive holistic wellness strategy for GCE/GCU employees. The Benefits Specialist - Wellness role provides leadership in the development and delivery of a results driven wellness program and provides support for the daily administration of corporate benefits programs.
Support the daily administration of health and wellness programs
Organizes wellness committees and appoints "champions" to engage employees in wellness program.
Manage wellness vendors across the spectrum of GCE and our partners’ Wellness programs
Implement and maintain the Wellness Strategy for GCE and its partners.
Administer the wellness expenses and budget
Research and implement wellness programs which focus on reducing health risks and improving health status.
Develops variety of remote based tools to inform and educate employees on wellness
As needed, may assist in handling escalated benefit questions/concerns which come through the HR Service Center
Assist the benefits team in benefit related tasks, which could include 401(k) entries, billing, eligibility calculations, 5500 support, audits and reporting
Degree in human resources or business administration, preferred
3+ years of benefits experience with at least 2 years of wellness administration, preferably in plan design and implementation
1+ years of project management
Strong understanding of wellness principles and holistic wellness design
Project leadership and process improvement background or experience in moving strategies/ideas from the conceptual stage through the implementation and execution.
Proven ability to execute processes accurately and on time
Strong verbal and written communication
Demonstrated creative design and brainstorm of wellness and recognition programs, and a passion for improving the well-being of employees.
Strong analytic skills in order to create and maintain metrics, reports and planning schedules
Fundamental to Advanced knowledge of Health & Welfare benefit principles
Solid knowledge of the DOL, Federal and State employment laws, FMLA, CFRA, PFL, ACA required
