Job Description

Under close supervision by the HR Director this position processes functions of and relating to payroll in an accurate and timely manner, processes all Benefit enrollments and changes, and provides administrative support to HR.

  • Performs all phases of the payroll processing cycle to include master payroll balancing and required governmental reporting in an accurate and timely manner
  • Designs, edits and implements forms and processes to streamline payroll function
  • Processes bi-weekly payroll for entire organization  
  • Reviews and exports timecards manually and via electronic import into payroll software
  • Distributes paychecks; and HR, Benefits
  • Processes Change of Status (COS) forms to update and maintain payroll files and HRIS to reflect personnel payroll changes
  • Prepares and files various bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports
  • Assists employees with payroll and benefit issues
  • Researches payroll issues/discrepancies, and processes necessary corrections
  • Complies with the regulatory standards and policies and procedures of payroll
  • Responsible for all on-boarding and off-boarding, as well as Benefit enrollments, changes and cancellations of all benefits programs

Skill / Requirements

 Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Paylocity HR and Payroll System experience preferred
  • Intermediate MS Office
  • Expert MS Excel knowledge
  • Proficient in payroll processing, reconciliation and reporting
  • Well versed in State Labor Laws where company operates and has employees working
  • Must be able to work independently, multitask, prioritizing projects, and meet critical deadlines
  • Analytically focused with a high level of attention to details
  • Ability to research as it relates to position and special projects
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent, AND two years of payroll experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English fluently
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality to the highest degree
  • Must possess excellent customer service, follow up and organization skill
