Job Description

Cordia Resources is working with a client to fill a Human Resources Director position located in Annandale, VA.

Experience in healthcare is highly preferred!


The candidate will direct and coordinate human resources activities in compliance with company philosophy, objectives and legal requirements. Recommends and leads the implementation of HR programs, policies, procedures and practices that focus on attracting, retaining and developing the employee base. Responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the Human Resources functions including recruitment; retention; employee benefits; compensation; performance management; employee relations; training and development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Directs and coordinates human resources activities in compliance with Company philosophy, objectives and legal requirements
  • Leads the implementation of HR programs, policies, procedures and practices that focus on attracting, retaining and developing the employee base
  • Responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the Human Resources functions for the Company
  • As a senior level HR business partner acts as a resource to the business on HR topics; designs and delivers HR solutions in response to various requests and needs in the areas of: employee relations, recruiting, training and development, overall administration of compensation and benefit programs; ensures compliance with legislated requirements such as EEO, wage and hour, ADA, OSHA
  • Leads the strategic recruitment process for the Company
  • Identifies, analyzes escalated employee relation problems and takes appropriate action to correct such problems
  • Partners with legal counsel on legal matters, lawsuits and compliance issues
  • Oversees the administration of the compensation and benefits programs for the Company to include pay adjustments, incentive and bonus programs
  • Oversee Workers Compensation claims and coordinates work with insurance carrier and Corporate staff
  • Directs and maintains various activities designed to promote and maintain a high level of employee morale
  • Lead the succession planning process implementing development programs to enhance current skills and develop new skills required for the future

  • 10% Special Projects

Qualifications Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree with a minimum of 7 years of HR leadership experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
  • In-depth knowledge of Human Resources Policy and Employee Relations, preferably in Healthcare and/or Home Health setting
  • Strong generalist knowledge of other HR disciplines; ability to identify situations where programs/policies/procedures cut across functional areas; ability to develop and coordinate appropriate response
  • Special skills required: Negotiation, influencing, delivering business presentations, coaching, and counseling
  • MS Office experience required in Word, Excel and PowerPoint, HRIS experience required
  • PHR or SPHR required
