As a Payroll Specialist you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

  • Reconcile wages and taxes on a biweekly basis
  • Reconcile quarterly and year-end payroll reports and W-2 forms to ensure accuracy
  • Process payroll adjustments to amend quarterly wages and taxes (as needed)
  • Set-up and monitor payroll tax withholding, register and open new payroll tax accounts, and handle tax related correspondence for federal, state, county, city, and school districts
  • Ensure proper payroll reporting and taxation of wages for non-resident aliens hired under different types of visas
  • Calculate and ensure the proper taxation of cash and non-cash fringe benefits, stock options, imputed income, and executive bonuses
  • Using a 3rd party service, handle multi-state unemployment claims and coordinate benefit eligibility; also communicate changes in state unemployment insurance rates
  • Ensure all ADP payroll checks and in-house payroll checks are cashed or escheated to the corresponding states
  • Review department invoices and submit payment requests to Accounts Payable
  • Prepare and submit WC payroll reports and premium payments to various states
  • Compile, review, and submit team member and dependent health insurance data for 1095-C and 1094-C forms
  • Prepare/distribute payroll reports
  • Participate in expatriate related tasks including shadow payroll reporting, hypothetical income taxes, per diem and COLA payments, and social security certificates of coverage

 

Skill / Requirements

The following skills and attributes are required:

  • 5 years payroll processing experience
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel Spreadsheets
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Unquestionable integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive and personal information

The following skills and attributes are preferred:

  • Working knowledge of ADP Payforce, and ADP Reporting
  • Experience with SAP, 3rd Party Unemployment Service, or 3rd Party ACA Reporting a plus
