Senior Human Resources Business Partner

Children’s Bureau has an immediate opportunity for a passionate & innovative HR business Partner to support human resources operations in a busy nonprofit organization committed to our mission of protecting vulnerable children through prevention, treatment, and advocacy.  Your expertise will help to ensure HR alignment with our critical organizational goals.

Our ideal candidates should have solid experience with HR practices and employee management. You will communicate with all aspects of our staff community including our senior management team to express new ideas and suggest solutions, considering budget limitations and our company culture.

Ultimately, you should be able to act as an internal consultant on human resources management, policy development and organizational changes.

This position will include:

  • Consult with all people leaders and provide daily HR guidance
  • Analyze trends and metrics with the HR department
  • Resolve complex employee relations issues and address grievances
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention
  • Provide HR policy guidance
  • Monitor and report on workforce planning & forecasting;
  • Track, monitor and analyze turnover adding prescription remedies to managers 
  • Identify training needs & develop meaningful just in time training for teams and individuals
  • Suggest new HR strategies
  • Strong understanding of HRIS technology: assessing, implementation and project managing
  • Play a critical role in HR-related special projects with a stellar skill set in: ideation, innovation and execution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree preferred in:  Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, Psychology or other related fields; 8-10 years of experience with an HR certification will be considered in lieu of a completed degree
  • Five to Ten years of progressive Human Resources experience (emphasis on HRIS systems, generalist and training development)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication (Bilingual Spanish is a plus but not required)
  • Super computer & software expertise (Office 365, Share Point, Excel Intermediate to Expert required and adept at building creative PowerPoint or Prezi and Visio)
  • Mastery of critical thinking and a toolkit of HR best practices; agility in all areas will be an asset
  • Regional position will require site visits monthly throughout Los Angeles and Orange Counties as well as travel to the Antelope Valley.  Reliable transportation will be required for this position.
