General Description Of Duties: The Director of Human Resources role is to assist the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) with the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resources function. The position provides vision, leadership and supervision for the Human Resources department, including, but not limited to training, recruiting, employee relations, and benefits administration. Works collaboratively to establish the strategic direction for human resources in the organization, and develop an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes quality, continuous innovation and high performance. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment, federal, state and local legislation and ensures organization compliance. Oversee existing training programs and implement programs to support organization’s goals. With assistance from the CAO, obtains cost effective, employee serving benefits and recommends changes in benefits offered aimed at employee satisfaction and retention. Leads the implementation of company safety and health programs. Monitors OSHA compliance, and manages the development and maintenance of the HRIS.

Education And Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required. Minimum of (10) years Human Resources experience required with increasing levels of responsibility and at least two years in a senior HR role. SHRM - SCP preferred. Must have a broad knowledge, and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organizational development, employee relations, safety, and training and development. Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills, and have the ability to effectively handle time management, and execute multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Must have experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs, and have excellent computer skills including management and administration of HRIS. Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, with internal and external customers of Adelante. Have the ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, supervisors and co-workers.

Other Requirements: Must have valid NMDL with a clean Agency insurable driving record, reliable transportation, and be able to pass a background check, and drug screen. Must be able to sit, perform keyboarding/typing tasks continuously. Must be able to stand, walk, frequently. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach above shoulder(s), kneel, lift 20 lbs., and carry occasionally. Must be flexible and able to accept change in schedule and assignment.
