The Regional HRM will serve as the primary point of contact for HR related inquiries and will provide HR support across the board for 500+ employees in 160+ stores across California. This position is based out of the ACE regional office in Riverside, CA and may require daily travel within the region to store locations. The Regional HR Manager should be open to around 20% - 30% overnight travel on an as-needed basis. This position reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.

Position Scope

The RHRM position includes but is not limited to, heavy recruiting, employee/labor relations, coaching/counseling of management and employees, talent and performance management, as well as benefits/payroll administration.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Managing employee relations
• Administer company policies
• Assisting with the sourcing, screening, and hiring of hourly store personnel
• Develop recruiting strategies for hourly and salaried positions
• Interview, select and hire candidates, while also working to promote, retain, recruit, and attract top performers at all levels of the organization.
• Facilitating employee orientation and training programs
• Serving as an exemplary company representative in community associations and functions
• Consult with local, divisional, and corporate leadership on a variety of HR and business-related issues on both strategic and operational levels.
• Ensure all HR initiatives and goals are met in accordance with corporate and region objectives.
• Drive cultural initiatives that focus on increasing employee engagement.
• Counsel, advise and train on performance-based issues including corrective action plans, grievances, and terminations.
• Investigate employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and recommend appropriate action in a timely manner.
• Oversee the areas of employment, affirmative action, employee benefits, compensation, performance appraisal programs, personnel record keeping, unemployment claims and employee relations, labor relations, and employee training/coaching.
• Identify and determine training needs within the region.
• Provide employee relations counseling and problem-solving for managers and employees, to ensure a productive work environment, remaining consistent with company values and policies and in adherence to state and federal regulatory law.

Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent corresponding job-related experience required
• Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
• The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of multi-unit or retail HR experience
• Minimum of 5 years full cycle staffing experience for non-exempt and exempt employees
• Minimum 5 years of Human Resources Management experience required.
• Previous experience in a retail, restaurant or hospitality environment is mandatory
• Demonstrated knowledge/experience of federal and state employment laws and other government compliance.
• Ability to be responsive and persuasive at all levels of the organization
• Effective interpersonal and analytical skills
• Experience with HRIS systems

Physical Demands
This position is required to stand, walk, stoop, crouch, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, reach with arms and hands, and to have an appropriate vision to see up close and at a distance with the ability to adjust vision and focus. Use of computer and telephone required. The employee may occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
