Under general direction performs a variety of activities to support safety and field objectives, including Club wide, safety related, training and development opportunities. Partners with local management; responsible for identifying, developing, testing, deploying and tracking compliance for a variety of safety training programs and effective management techniques in the field to support the organizational goals. Involves knowledge of safety strategies to provide expertise, training, program oversight and related duties to increase effectiveness through people and organization Core areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, Health and Safety, OSHA, DOT and compliance training and tracking on a Learning Management System (LMS).


Under direction of the Club’s Safety Manager, responsible for the development, implementation, coordination and compliance of the organization’s programs and policies covering employee safety and regulatory compliance. Collaborates with departments to evaluate and define overall, safety related, training needs, develops appropriate learning objectives and curriculum, conducts training, identifies speakers or instructors, and evaluates program effectiveness.

Researches, develops, plans, organizes, conducts and evaluates safety training programs for the Club, focusing on Health and Safety, OSHA, DOT and other safety training to meet compliance protocols; partners with HR to evaluate an official repository of employee training records, vendor contracts, and budgeting needs. Evaluates OSHA training needs and monitors and tracks OSHA occurrences related to the effectiveness of safety training.

Works closely with business line/department management and employees to continuously integrate safety with other strategic goals of the organization to further improve work relationships, build morale, increase employee commitment, engagement, productivity and retention. Monitors safe operating techniques by conducting safety observations to ensure compliance with safety procedures; assesses risks and occupational hazards associated with operations and develops programs to prevent both injury and vehicle crashes.

Performs Job Safety Analysis and develops recommended protocols, training, procedures and related protective equipment as needed. Ensures that developed program information and training is available on current and emerging technologies and troubleshooting information. Develops courses by using adult learning principles, appropriate media, product information, and technical sources; updates LMS with courses and completed training for compliance reporting.

Writes material for new training programs; reviews, evaluates, and modifies existing and proposed programs; recommends appropriate changes. Prepares and distributes training and onboarding aids such as instructional material, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids; sets up audiovisual equipment and makes presentations when necessary. Schedules the appropriate classroom and prepares the physical setup.

Supports the Club’s safety culture by developing and delivering safety memorandums, bulletins, newsletters, and similar awareness/notification communications; acts as a central point of contact for coordination of safety activities during employee engagement events.• Participates in investigation of major accidents and collisions in our Southeastern/Central Massachusetts region; recommends corrective actions as appropriate.

May serve on various committees as assigned; attends and participates in professional group meetings; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the safety and training field; maintains awareness of federal, state and local regulations and impact of changes on the Club; may work on or take the lead on special projects or participate as member of other teams.

Participates in investigation of major accidents, collisions and environmental spills; recommends corrective actions as appropriate.

Other duties as assigned, including a need to be flexible with shifting job duties and priorities, new programs, retiring programs, and team evolution efforts.


BA - Human Resources, Education, Psychology or Sociology or 5 years of relevant experience.

Minimum of 3-5 years of Safety related experience (DOT/OSHA), training adults in both a classroom and web based setting, and LMS content design, updates, and reporting. Minimum of 1-3 years of working with technically and culturally diverse groups

Strong communication skills, including written, verbal and active listening.
Experience with Writing/Content Design, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, course authoring tools (i.e. Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate), administration of an LMS (Learning Management System), Facilitation and project management.
