Corporate Job Bank has an immediate need for        Shipping Supervisor                .


 


Our client is a Plastic Manufacturing company seeks experienced Shipping Supervisor for West Valley valley (43rd Ave & Buckeye) location warehouse.  Successful candidates will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience:


 


 


These positions are Temp  to Hire


 


$18.00 to $24.00 Hour and 1st Shift: 7:00am to 3:30pm


 


Examples of duties include:


 



  • Supervises the activities of workers engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials.

  • Interviews, selects, and trains warehouse personnel.

  • Responsible for issuing shipping instructions and routing information to ensure that delivery times and locations are coordinated.

  • Responsible for reviewing rates prior to shipping, also following the rates in the industry.

  • Establishes the daily shipping plan and work assignments to achieve on-time and complete goals.

  • Communicates with other department managers to coordinate warehouse activities, such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing.

  • Regularly inspects physical conditions of warehouse, to include equipment, and product.  

  • Performs picking, material handling and other functions as required using fork truck, electric pallet jack or other motorized equipment. 

  • Promptly responds with appropriate corrective action as needed to customers' or shippers' questions and complaints regarding shipping errors, storages and distribution services.

  • Track and trace goods while they are en route to their destinations, expediting orders when necessary.

  • Negotiate with carriers, for services, and contracts with preferential rates.

  • Evaluates and reports freight costs and the inventory costs associated with transit times to ensure that costs are appropriate.

  • Advise sales and billing departments of transportation charges for customers' accounts.

  • Arrange for outside storage facilities when required.

  • Manages departmental budget and performance measures.

  • Responsible for accurate inventory counts at all times.

  • Responsible for department safety and enforcement of safety policies and procedures.

  • Responsible for warehouse condition, damages, consolidation, cycle counts & security

  • Performs routine cycle counts on Yum brand items to insure recalls will result in a 100% fulfillment

  • Responsible for PPE in department and Safety procedures are followed at all times

  • Schedule employee work hours to equal work load on a per day basis

  • Monitor customer returns and update the log promptly

  • Memorization - The ability to remember information such as words, numbers, and procedures.

  • Wrist-Finger Speed - The ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. (typing)



  • Information Ordering - The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order. 

  • Oral Expression/Comprehension - The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.    The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

  • Written Comprehension/Expression - The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.

  • Time Sharing - The ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information (such as speech, sounds, touch, or other sources).



  • Attention to Detail - Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks.
