Position Summary
The Payroll Analyst works with the Senior Payroll Analyst ensuring all employees are paid properly and according to all applicable federal, state, local laws, and regulations.  Assists with audits, corrections, and processes the day-to-day payroll transactions along with initiating the computerized payroll, semimonthly.  Provides excellent customer service, complete confidentiality, understands and initiates general banking processes, regulations. Maintains all actions occurring to payroll records during the year.
Essential Duties
1. Maintains knowledge of all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and special instructions regarding the payroll process. 
2. Incorporates knowledge of the payroll structural design into the processing, review, and maintenance of all payroll cycles. This includes, but is not limited to, verifying and processing garnishments, levies, child support, retro salary and merit increases, , auditing data integrity, preparing manual payments, verification and data-processing of direct deposit information, performing system recalculations of information, and calculating/processing all termination paychecks.
3. Administers the Automated Time Keeping System, Kronos. Maintains knowledge of system purpose, function, and the policy driving them. 
4. Assists the Senior Payroll Analyst with developing and implementing all testing material within the Payroll environment and environments the Payroll system affects as needed.
5. Assists the Senior Payroll Analyst with reconciliations including related payroll / benefits general ledger accounts, creates related work papers, and pay-period-ending worksheet balances as needed. Maintains various files/archives, outdated reports, garnishment information, levies, and more. 
6. Assists the Senior Payroll Analyst with reconciling and filing timely  with regulatory bodies (federal, state, and other) related taxable income and taxes withheld each pay period, monthly, quarterly, and annually as needed.  
7. Prepares and processes W2’s at the end of the calendar year.
8. Assists the Senior Payroll Analyst with implementations of any new legal requirements and communicates relevant updates to Finance and Human Resources.

Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree preferred in Business, Finance or Healthcare Administration.  Work experience can qualify for education requirements.
Work Experience
A minimum of three (3) years experience processing payroll required.
Special Training, Certification or Licensure
Computer skills, 10-key adding machine, advanced knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing and Internet navigation and experience in PeopleSoft and Kronos software preferred.
