Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: Perform a variety of human resources tasks and duties related to the day-to-day functioning of the department, including administrative tasks, maintaining personnel files, benefits administration, and assisting the HR Manager with various HR duties.with HR employee relations and recruiting when directed by the HR Manager.


· Responsible for maintaining the employee databases (including ADP) when adding new hires, processing changes, and terminations. Includes processing tax forms, direct deposits, contact info, employment verifications, etc.

· Enters new hire employee information into Iowa DHS website.Prepares new hire packets for training classes.Maintains office supplies and equipment (in Des Moines). Maintains the Company’s relationship with multiple vendors and contractors. Back-up for answering telephone console and directs roll over calls to appropriate staff members. Covers front desk duties when Human Resources Assistant is unavailable.

· Assists HR department as needed with processing unemployment claims via UI websites for Telephone Sales Representatives in all U.S Call Center locations when needed. Escalates appeals to HR Manager. Serves as back-up for unemployment claims filing, fact finding, and hearings.

· Main contact for identifying legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources including labor law postings compliance and staying up-to-date on recent employment law changes.

· Main contact for all Telephone Sales Representatives to report HR-related complaints, or ask questions including taking the initial complaint, acting with confidentiality, and bringing all findings to the HR Manager for final decision.

· Assists HR Manager with staff recruitment administrative tasks, including preparing internal postings, updating applicable hiring databases, and pulling applicant information when directed by the HR Manager.

· Is the face of Marketlink and assists in greeting all visitors when needed. Is the face of Marketlink in all communications with all employees and all U.S Call Center locations.

· Processes FMLA requests, paperwork and procedures for all Telephone Sales Representatives in all U.S Call Center locations. Ensures timely and smooth return to work, including weekly follow up and/or coordination with employee on leave, Operations staff at respective centers, and Talent team for filing/rosters. Sends all completed paperwork to the HR Manager for final approval. Processes and tracks internal representative leave of absence and FMLA paperwork.

· Maintains Staff medical files and assists with Staff filing as directed by the HR Manager.s representative personnel and medical files.

· Keeps records of all U.S employees (agents and staff) representative benefits plan participation, including handling & tracking benefit enrollment/terms/changes each month.. Main contact for benefit-related questions and benefit eligibility ACA or other governing regulations.

· Ability to translate HR policies and procedures into practical application and to assist employees or potential employees with personnel related questions including benefit questions, LOA/FMLA questions, and any other general HR questions.

· Takes the lead on special projects and gathering information as requested by the HR Manager.

· Assist the HR Assistant with administrative tasks as needed.

· Serves as back-up for unemployment claims filing, fact finding, and hearings.

· Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


· Minimum of an Associate’s degree required, preferably in Human Resources; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

· 1-2 years of prior HR experience required. 3-4 years of prior HR experience preferred.

· Able to handle confidential information with discretion.

· Flexibility and adaptability to change.

· Good organizational/time management skills.

· Record of professional behavior.

· Strong verbal and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively with all employees including management and outside vendors.

· Strong follow through, attention to detail and a focus on compliance.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

· Ability to use office equipment such as computer terminal, copier, calculator, fax machine, and multi-line telephone console.

· Valid Driver’s License required. Availability for light U.S domestic travel as needed.
