JOB SUMMARY:

The Life Safety & EOC Officer is responsible for strategically administering and orchestrating the regulatory requirements of the Environment of Care (EOC) Program, emergency Preparedness Program and the Employee Injury Prevention Program across the organization. The role provides leadership and direction, while advising leaders in appropriate safety strategies/compliance with regulatory agencies for federal, state and local entities (e.g. CDPH, OSHA, NFPA, Joint Commission). This position monitors the requirements and standards of the EOC and Emergency Preparedness (EP) programs making sure compliance is in place. The Life Safety & EOC Officer is a key part of the Infection Prevention Team with monitoring the environment, construction projects and sterilization and high level disinfection practices. This program requires thorough documentation of processes and outcomes to demonstrate compliance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree

7 years of experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree

10 years of experience

Infection Control Certification

Healthcare Environmental Management Certification

Haz Mat Certification

Hospital Incident Command Systems (HICS) Certification

Sterilization Certification

Progressive management role in a healthcare facility

Experience/knowledgeable of Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA and CDPH regulations

Confident in implementing programs to drive change and intervening in a high stress situation
