Legacy Community Health is a premium, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive care to community members regardless of their ability to pay. Our goal is to treat the entire patient while improving their overall wellness and quality of life. In addition to providing free pregnancy tests, HIV/AIDS screening. At Legacy, we empower patients to lead better lives by promoting healthy behaviors and offering resources such as literacy classes, family planning services and nutrition and weight management information.

 

Our roots began in 1981 as the Montrose Clinic, with specialization in HIV education, testing and treatment. Since then, the agency has expanded to 10 clinics in Houston, one in Baytown, two in Beaumont, and one in Deer Park with extensive services that include: Adult primary care, HIV/AIDS care, pediatrics, OB/GYN and maternity, dental, vision and behavioral health. We also service students within KIPP and YES Prep schools. Legacy is committed to driving healthy change in our communities.

The Benefits Manager is responsible for administration of employee benefits, providing guidance and assistance to employees when needed, and ensuring up to date regulation compliance. 

  • Administers employee benefit programs such as retirement plans, medical, dental.

  • Collaborates with vendor for short and long disability and life and AD&D plans, COBRA, FSA, and various Leaves of Absences

  • Collaborates with broker to resolve coverage issues and ensure plan design

  • Ensures company compliance with provisions of all benefit and retirement plans

  • Prepares reports required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as IRS, DOL, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies

  • Serves as the primary contact and resource for plan vendors and third party administrators

  • Oversees annual open enrollment including communication to employees and managing enrollment data with all vendors; also included managing on line enrollment system

  • Analyzes and report cost estimates/ projections and other relevant statistical data relating to modifications in benefit programs and recommend cost containment plan design strategies

  • Provides necessary financial data to assist in preparing budgetary recommendations and presentation materials

  • Oversees, audits and reconciles the processing of monthly billings, including COBRA, and the preparation of ACH & wires for payment and administrative fees for all group plans

  • 3 years of experience in managing benefit plans; must be able to clearly communicate information regarding benefits to employees. 
  • Ability to demonstrate sound business judgment, integrity and professionalism
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills (both verbal and written), including ability to simplify and communicate complex information
  • Ability to organize projects, meet deadlines and handle multiple demands, all while paying strong attention to detail
  • Computer literacy required, including advanced knowledge of Windows Office and Outlook particularly intermediate to advance skills with Excel
  • Must be knowledgeable with all applicable state and federal laws and regulations
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
