Job Summary


Under general supervision, performs customer service duties to the Centura associate population as it relates to benefit programs to include group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, retirement plan, and flexible spending plans. Performs a variety of administrative tasks in support of the benefits function.


Minimum Education Requirements




  • High School Diploma or GED required



Minimum Experience Requirements




  • Basic knowledge of organization benefit programs and the payroll process.
  • 2 years of related experience, preferred



License/Certifications

Job Responsibilities (essential functions identified with a * )




  • Handles benefit inquiries/complaints for internal and external customers to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution and appropriately directs more complex inquiries.*
  • Maintains contact by phone or mail, with hospitals, physicians, insurance companies, employees, and beneficiaries to facilitate proper and complete utilization of benefits for all employees.*
  • Provides excellent customer service and technical support in the delivery of the benefit programs.*
  • Assists employees in completing enrollment, change, or claims forms. Answers basic questions about offerings, eligibility, or coverage.*
  • Counsels callers on eligibility and enrollment in life, health, and disability insurance, as well as health savings accounts, COC eligibility, qualifying events, leave of absence, paid time off, and retirement plans.*
  • Ensures that appropriate documentation is prepared so that new hire transactions and existing employee changes can be processed.*
  • Sends out benefit forms for their completion.*
  • Completes benefit related forms for associates such as verification of coverage, Medicare and FMLA hour inquiries.*
  • Produces basic audit reports and processes according to department procedures.*
  • Provides feedback to improve communication tools to enhance understanding of the company’s benefits package. *

  • Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
